Founder:              Lisa D. Chanel is the founder of the Law Offices of L.D. Chanel, LLC.  

 

Co-Mediators:               For clients who desire the benefits of co-mediation/facilitation, Ms. Chanel works in conjunction with a network of independent private practitioners who are also trained in alternative dispute resolution.  This network of trained professionals includes but is not limited to mediators with backgrounds as lawyers, human resource specialists and mediation trainers.  The co-mediators are independent contractors and not employees of the Law Offices of L.D. Chanel, LLC.

Ms. Chanel is an accomplished and seasoned attorney with a unique combination of teaching experience, alternative dispute resolution experience and extensive litigation experience. 

 

Ms. Chanel is the sole legal counsel for the firm in New York, Maryland and the District of Columbia.  She has served as an adjunct professor at the University of the District of Columbia where she has taught Introduction to Logic, Introduction to Social Ethics, Conflict Resolution and Mediation Techniques, and Justice Issues in Society.  She is also a member of the adjunct faculty at Howard University where she has taught Principles of Reasoning and continues to teach Philosophy of Law.

 

Ms. Chanel also serves in the capacity as a trained mediator, settlement conference facilitator and neutral fact-finding conference examiner in all areas of concentration handled by this firm.  Prior to becoming a trial attorney, she was a certified mediator for the N.J. Superior Court.
